Cat’s love and involvement in aviation was not only rich, but also well-proven, before the age of 18. Joining the Air Training Corps at 13 years old, Cat’s flying experience began with military aircraft, including Hercules, Nimrods and Chinooks. At 15, Cat won a competitive gliding scholarship, and by 16 could fly flex-wing microlights (happily accommodated by a weekend job at a local aerodrome that paid in microlight lessons). By 18, Cat received her Private Pilot’s License before she could even drive a car and began her tertiary studies with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology and Management.
Cat commenced her business aviation career at major international broker Air Charter Service (ACS), absorbing the fundamentals of the industry and broker dynamic. Cat moved to Dubai with ACS when an opportunity came up at the UAE office, which was the start of a 12 year Middle Eastern adventure.
With tenures at both Chapman Freeborn and Royal Jet, Cat gained invaluable operator and brokerage skills in a truly international market. Remaining in Dubai, Cat joined Vertis Aviation in 2013, starting out as the General Manager of the Middle East and quickly being promoted to Chief Commercial Officer and then Chief Operating Officer in her time there.
In her 7 years tenure at Vertis Aviation, Cat managed the sales and marketing of a fleet of aircraft, truly absorbing the complex requirements of an operator. Cat also managed a team of international satellite offices, developing an acute understanding of the importance of good communication practises supported by technology.
Cat joined STACK.aero in late 2021 as Director of Business Development, working to bring modern technology to the industry she holds so dear.
Gabby’s career has seen her guide various companies through successful growth phases. Her proudest achievement has been boot-strapping STACK.aero’s commercial growth, through the countless challenges that a new venture brings.
Pragmatic, methodical and focused, Gabby understands what is required to manage the many limbs of an early-stage business, often jumping in and simply ‘making it happen’. Previous experience guiding the growth and exit of an IaaS product has served Gabby well to manage and assess business functions from both a macro and micro level.
Gabby works hard to ensure she is across all areas of STACK’s operations, and that both the business and the people behind it have what they need to operate effectively.
Functions include managing and co-ordinating sales & marketing, product delivery schedules, legal functions, HR, customer relations, company financials and cashflow, strategic planning, resource management and everything in between.
